I want to raise my left fist as high as I can, as a symbol of our definitions and commitments to a way of seeing and understanding the world in order to subscribe to its transformation.

I want to say loud and clear: women fighters and combatants never die, and together with you, fellow bus drivers, I pay tribute to the 129 women, burned alive in a textile factory, fighting for their rights and ours.

I want to acknowledge that today we would NOT be here, free and happy, if we were not heirs to that conquest of rights, led by the forerunners of feminist political thought, who today, from beyond, invite us to continue the fight against systems of oppression, calling us to a necessary articulation, among all the forces that transform inequalities, hierarchies, hegemonies and everything that goes against human dignity.

Our tribute to the women of March 8th, from the beginning of the 20th century.

What is special about this event is that we are doing it in the middle of the 25th anniversary of the Cole (Rebeldía Collective), as we affectionately call them.

Women, witches, madwomen, sisters and comrades, being here is for many of us a commitment to ourselves, to women, to our comrades, it is a political act of joining forces to move towards a single objective, to deconstruct the systems of domination that naturalize every act of discrimination, exclusion, control and violence.

Twenty-five years have passed, and it seems like it was yesterday, when Santa Cruz de la Sierra awoke with a Rebellion Collective, which was called to rebel against the norms that establish the dogmas of being a woman and being a man as absolute truths, excluding at a stroke the diversities who lived, live and militate in our ranks.

Therefore, women and colleagues, cheers to 25 years!

Go ahead, comrades, we still have several stretches of the road to walk.

CONGRATULATIONS

Words from Miriam Suárez on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Rebeldía Collective
